Which Dutch Masters have been brightening up your garden gallery?

You have some lovely varieties. I wonder how they decide that a new variety is different enough to name as I have some that look like some of these but have a different name. My Cum Laude looks like you Passionate and My Tres Chic is very like your Purissima
ReplyDeleteYou are right Sue, I think there may be slight variations such as height etc.
DeleteJan Reus would be my favourite Dutch Master, but you have a stunning gallery in your garden.
ReplyDeleteThank you Ann, there are so many to choose from.
DeletePeppermint Stick is just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteIt is Jessica, yet so delicate it is the first to flower.
DeleteBeautiful gallery. Best tulip for staying power in my garden has to be Brown Sugar.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kate. I looked up Brown Sugar, I see Sarah Raven rates it so you are in good company.
DeleteOh I do like Ballade and China Pink, Brian
ReplyDeleteI think Ballade is my favourite of those two Cathy.
DeleteI do love that pink one, China Pink. They are all wonderful! Ballade is also very pretty. I nearly ordered Peppermint Stick last year... it is quite something and I may put it on this year's list. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure Cathy, yes put it on the list.
ReplyDeleteLovely collection! I don't have as many but I have just remembered what the lovely, dark tulips I have are called - Queen of the Night, thanks. Amelia
ReplyDeleteThank you Amelia.
DeleteA lovely selection - I am not all that good at growing tulips and once planted equal numbers of white and black (Queen of Night). Only the black ones came up so that one has been a favourite ever since.
ReplyDeleteBut I do like your Ballade and Abu Hassan. And Peppermintstick and Flaming Mint Green are very unusual...
Best wishes :)
There are so many good ones. Perhaps the squirrels only liked the white ones!,
DeleteOh there are some real beauties there Brian. Now where's my pen?
ReplyDeleteThank you Anna.
DeleteThey are all beautiful Brian - I particularly like Princess Irene.
