A big thank you to all our helpers and supporters from the Black Pear Gardening Club: http://www.blackpeargc.org.uk/index.html friends, son-in-law, children and grand children, without whom, The Hanley Swan NGS Gardens (there are three in the group) would not have been able to raise £2222 to donate to the NGS.
I'm glad it went well and what an incredible amount you raised! I was thinking of you.. the weather down here was awful at times.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jessica, The weather was not too bad here in the end.
DeleteI am so glad it went well for you, Brian - what am amazing amount of money to raise! I am sorry I don't dip into your blog as much as I would like to - it is always a pleasure when I do, but so many blogs! so little time! There is so much to like @19 (including your white wisteria!)
ReplyDeleteThank you Cathy, you are always welcome, the white wisteria is spectacular when in flower.
DeleteGarden, plants and cake all look fabulous Brian and as Jessica says you've raised a fabulous sum for charity. A most well deserved glass of wine too to wind up proceedings :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Anna, we are fortunate in having a good team of friends and family to help.
DeleteHuge congrats, it was all so well organised and that is a wonderful sum you raised between you. I thought you would get a flurry of visitors late Sunday afternoon as when I got to the big garden there were quite a few cars and people seemed to be heading your way.
ReplyDeleteStill pondering the need for a wisteria in my garden having seen yours, oh and growing ensata irises in pots with holes plugged up.
Thanks Helen, the majority seemed to aim to be here in time for afternoon tea. I am pleased we have given you food for thought.
DeleteThat's a great sum for just three gardens! Well done, and so glad the weather played along for you.
ReplyDeleteThank you Cathy, the weather is the one element we still cannot control.
DeleteWell done. What a success. It looks as though it was worth all the hard work.
ReplyDeleteYes it was Anne, It is rewarding not just raising money towards worthwhile charities, but also sharing your garden with fellow gardeners.
DeleteThat is an amazing amount of money that you all raised, well done everyone! You can now put your feet up and have a well earned rest!
ReplyDeleteThank you Pauline, we will do that before we start planning for next year!
DeleteCongratulations! That really is most excellent. I thought of you as I sat and shivered on our drive for both days! We made about £740.00 with a little more to be added following a visit the following night (in the world's stormiest condtiotions!)
ReplyDeleteThank you Pam, we have two groups booked for a visit later in the year which should add some more to the total. We are looking forward to visiting you in July with the BPG Club.
DeleteWell done, what a great day you had. I wish I lived near enough to come to your Open Day.
ReplyDeleteThank you Chloris, That is the beauty of blogging, while not the same, we can visit gardens around the world from the comfort of home.
DeleteWow well done, looks like a lot of hard work all round paid off on the day!
ReplyDeleteYes it did thank you, we are all very pleased with the result.
ReplyDeleteIt looks just lovely (and as it's 5:00 PM here, the cakes look perfect!) Congratulations as it all seems to have been quite successful! Sorry to comment so late; I am still trying to catch up around the web...
ReplyDeleteThank you Amy, It can take a lot of time to keep up with all the blogs we enjoy reading, life gets in the way!!
DeleteHi Brian, I cannot see your photos as our internet speed is so terrible, but really well done, thats an amazing amount to have raised. I could see the photo of the bubbly though, sounds as if that was well earned.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jules, It must be very frustrating to have such slow internet speed.
DeleteApologies for late comments ! Glad you had such a successful day! We opened on 21st June, and had a very enjoyable day. The work beforehand ... maybe not so enjoyable! Will you open next year ?
ReplyDeleteWe will be opening next year, with at least one more garden joining our group.
DeleteWe enjoy people visiting the garden.
