NGS Weekend.


The Garden@19 was ready...


...the extension to the refreshment area was erected (To keep the sun off)...


...the plant sales area was ready...


...plants labeled...


...prices are displayed on the board...


...including those in this greenhouse...


...the catering team on standby...


...the Saturday team...


...the Sunday team with an interloper (come in for a warm).


Tea or coffee...


...with a selection of cakes or cream teas...


...orders taken...


...and delivered.


Plant sale area open for business...


...selling plants to all ages...


...one of our happy helpers.

My latest garden feature.


A big thank you to all our helpers and supporters from the Black Pear Gardening Club: http://www.blackpeargc.org.uk/index.html friends, son-in-law, children and grand children, without whom, The Hanley Swan NGS Gardens (there are three in the group) would not have been able to raise £2222 to donate to the NGS.

  2. I am so glad it went well for you, Brian - what am amazing amount of money to raise! I am sorry I don't dip into your blog as much as I would like to - it is always a pleasure when I do, but so many blogs! so little time! There is so much to like @19 (including your white wisteria!)

  3. Garden, plants and cake all look fabulous Brian and as Jessica says you've raised a fabulous sum for charity. A most well deserved glass of wine too to wind up proceedings :)

  4. Huge congrats, it was all so well organised and that is a wonderful sum you raised between you. I thought you would get a flurry of visitors late Sunday afternoon as when I got to the big garden there were quite a few cars and people seemed to be heading your way.

    Still pondering the need for a wisteria in my garden having seen yours, oh and growing ensata irises in pots with holes plugged up.

  8. Congratulations! That really is most excellent. I thought of you as I sat and shivered on our drive for both days! We made about £740.00 with a little more to be added following a visit the following night (in the world's stormiest condtiotions!)

  13. Hi Brian, I cannot see your photos as our internet speed is so terrible, but really well done, thats an amazing amount to have raised. I could see the photo of the bubbly though, sounds as if that was well earned.

  14. Apologies for late comments ! Glad you had such a successful day! We opened on 21st June, and had a very enjoyable day. The work beforehand ... maybe not so enjoyable! Will you open next year ?
