Tree following. May

The buds on the Acer negundo Flamingo that I have chosen for the tree following meme are now fully open revealing their pink edging.

Worcestershire has long history of Fruit Blossom Trails.
I thought, as a seasonal extra, I would show you some of the blossom on our fruit trees.  This has been exceptionally good this year.

Please follow the Blossom Trail in Our Garden@19.

Crab Apple 'Golden Hornet'

Espalier trained Pear 'Invincible' growing over an arch.

Pyrus 'Invicible'

Fan trained Cherry 'Sunburst'.
Prunus 'Sunburst'
Espalier Apple 'Blenheim Orange'
Malus 'Blenheim Orange'
Malus 'Grenadier'

Malus 'Roseette'
Malus 'Kidd's Orange Red'
Malus 'Worcester Pearmain'

Malus ' Herefordshire Russett'

All these trees have been planted in the garden since 2004, when we bought the house.

I hope you have enjoyed our Blossom Trail, we hope for no late frosts and a good fruit crop.

Please click on any photo to create a slide show.

The answer to April's tree following bark quiz is: Cedar of Lebanon (Cedrus libani)

  1. It does seem to be a very good year for blossom. The trees here are loaded too.

    1. We must hope it has been warm enough for the bees to do their magic.

  2. I love all your lovely fruit trees. It is a great year for blossom and I only noticed this year how different apple trees have slightly different blossoms.

  3. Lovely photos of your blossom and the acer with its pink tinge. It was a good year for blossom here too, with no late frosts. Most of it has now gone over already after some very hot weather followed by heavy showers, It is usually shortlived, but beautiful!

    1. We appear to be having April showers now in May, hopefully it will not damage the fruit blossom.

  4. Yes, it certainly is a good year for blossom, hopefully the bees have been busy and we won't need our paintbrush this year!

    1. I try to restrict the paint brush to the garden furniture and buildings, hoping the bees do their bit!

  7. Pretty blossom Brian - the blossom is only just coming out here. It's been a slow year.

    1. It will be interesting to see how much fruit has set with the variable weather we have had.
